Located just 10 miles away, downtown Santa Barbara is a treasure
trove of shops, restaurants, art galleries, museums, gardens, parks,
natural beauty and red tile roofs. Many adults take this opportunity
to enjoy one of the citys many fine restaurants. Weve
even seen couples sneak away for an afternoon matinee at a local
theatre.

Wine Tasting in Santa Barbara
County
Santa Barbara County is a world-class touring and tasting destination,
renowned for distinguished wines and golden countryside dotted with
quaint western towns and friendly locals. Todays wine boom
centers in the Santa Ynez Valley. Acclaimed for its Chardonnay and
Pinot Noir varietals, the area also produces Merlot, Cabernet Franc,
and Rhone varietals such as Syrah.
The beautiful rolling hills around Los Olivos and Santa Ynez are
home to the highest concentration of vineyards in the county. Traveling
north on scenic Highway 154 from Santa Barbara, the old-western
town of Santa Ynez is usually the first stop on a wine tour. From
here, wine-lovers can travel the wide open country roads and visit
some of the regions most honored vintners.
The Family Vacation Center offers a wine tour, which will take
you to a variety of wineries throughout Santa Barbara County. The
tour includes a picnic lunch and opportunities to taste and buy as
few or as many bottles of wine as youd like.
